Does Sculpsure Really Work?

The hot topic of the moment is body sculpting. As the weather warms up and swimsuit season approaches, we come out of hibernation. We start thinking about those little areas we want to improve.

Body sculpting is the latest and greatest in the aesthetic world. New technology has finally arrived that offers great results without the invasiveness of well-known procedures like liposuction or smart lipo.

There are two big contenders in body sculpting that you should know about: SculpSure and Coolsculpting®. Both procedures offer very similar outcomes — for example, 23–24% fat reduction per treatment — and both SculpSure and CoolSculpting can deliver significant PERMANENT fat reduction.

Let’s focus for a second on the key differences. SculpSure is a laser technology, which uses light energy to heat up and destroy fat cells. Instead of using heat, CoolSculpting does what the name implies and destroys fat cells by cooling or freezing the tissue.

When it came time for our practice to choose which between SculpSure and CoolSculpting, we carefully weighed the pros and cons for our clients. In the end, SculpSure came out ahead.

Why? We believe that SculpSure has a lower risk of complications.

CoolSculpting can result in a slight deformity called “fat shelving” where the procedure leaves shelves or ridges in the treatment area.

Because SculpSure uses a laser, it does not have this side effect. Light energy “scatters” across the treatment area, and this ensures a very natural, feathered result.

With SculpSure we can literally sculpt and enhance the natural curve of the body. We can give a lifting effect to the buttocks, remove love handles for men and women, and reduce the overall size of the target area.

You may be wondering what you can expect from the treatment, so we’ll address some common questions about SculpSure.

Am I a candidate for SculpSure?

SculpSure is ideal for people with trouble spots or problem areas, particularly those that seem resistant to diet and exercise. We have treated clients between the ages of 20 and 75 and have produced great results.

How many treatments will I need?

Every patient is different. Most people should expect at least 3 treatments per area, but we will customize a plan that is right for your body and your goals.

How long before I can resume normal activity?

One of the nice things about SculpSure is that there is no downtime. You can have your treatment over lunch and return to work or your regular activities immediately.

What should I expect during the treatment?

Each treatment cycle lasts 25 minutes. You will feel a deep warmth and tingling sensation intermittently throughout the treatment. Most patients tolerate this well and don’t experience any serious discomfort.

When will I see results?

If you are trying to get that swimsuit body ready, you need to come in right away! Patients begin to see results as early as 6 weeks after treatment, and optimal results start to manifest around 12 weeks.

How long will the results last?

F-O-R-E-V-E-R!!! And that’s a mighty long time. SculpSure achieves permanent fat cell destruction, meaning that the fat cells will not regenerate.

Is SculpSure safe?

The FDA has cleared SculpSure as the world’s first laser treatment for non-invasive lipolysis of the belly, thighs, back, and chin (aka, submental area). SculpSure can safely and effectively remove excess or unwanted fat cells without surgery or “downtime.”
